The ribbon hasn’t even been officially cut at U.S. Bank Stadium and already the $1.1 billion state-of-the-art football palace has fallen victim to vandals.
A spokeswoman for the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority confirmed the stadium suffered a broken window. The broken window was located near the Ecolab gate entrance into the Hyundai Club.
While the rock shattered the outer glass panel, a shield behind it prevented any glass from entering the stadium.

The Star Tribune reports a source saying someone walking by the window picked up a rock and threw it at it. The source tells the newspaper the incident was caught on a security camera.
It’s not clear if authorities have a suspect – or exactly when the window was broken. Stadium officials said it is already being repaired.
The stadium features more than 200,000 square feet of glass.
The official ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Friday followed by a public open house this weekend.
