Who will oversee the high-profile, $1 billion Vikings stadium project?
Two groups will share in the responsibilities, and the appointments for both bodies need to be made by Thursday, MPR recently reported.
The Minnesota Sports Facility Authority is a five-member panel, tasked with keeping the project on budget, among other oversight duties. Gov. Mark Dayton will appoint three members and Minneapolis Mayor RT Rybak will appoint two. KSTP obtained a list of people under consideration for that panel.
The city is also appointing a “stadium implementation committee,” which would be tasked with making recommendations on stadium design and infrastructure. It isn’t clear how many will serve on that panel, but it’s likely to be at least 15. That committee membership is already taking shape, the Star Tribune says.
