This is pretty straight forward Wolves faithful.
We don’t remember what it’s like to be a part of the NBA playoffs anymore, so in this continuing series, we’ll live vicariously through the 2003-04 Minnesota Timberwolves, most likely once a week.
This time around, it’s been significantly longer than a week since we were last with you. In our most recent edition of ’10 years’, the Wolves were beating a foe that often got the better of them, Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs.
This week, Minnesota continues their torrid win streak against Tracy Mcgrady and the Orlando Magic.
MINNESOTA 113, ORLANDO 100: The Wolves hadn’t scored over 100 points in eight straight games, but got into triple-digits two nights in a row, this the second of those evenings, in a win over the porous Magic.
Kevin Garnett, Latrell Sprewell, and Sam Cassell combined for 75 points, and no Magic player got into double-figures aside from Mcgrady’s 34 and Juwan Howard contributing 17.
The win was Minnesota’s 21st in 25 games, a streak that got them 21 games above .500. Since the 2003-04 season, Minnesota has not been more than six games above even.
Their winning wasn’t over, we’ll check in with more positivity soon.
