If the playoffs started today the Vikings would be in the playoffs as the 6-seed. But even if the Vikings win out they aren’t guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. The scenarios are crazy.
The easiest path to the postseason is by winning the final two games against Houston and Baltimore, and hoping the Giants lose one of its final two games. That way the Vikings would be 10-6, and likely go into the playoffs as the sixth seed.
However, as explained by the Pioneer Press, even if they do go 10-6 they can miss the playoffs if both the Giants and Redskins finish 10-6, too.
Rookie offensive lineman Matt Kalil is keeping it simple. “Oh, of course, I’ll check out the little different scenarios,” he said. “But if we just win, it takes care of itself. That’s all we’re focused on.”
